Hide-A-Way Hills Takes on the Geese

Dear Members:
I’m sure you are aware of our ever increasing goose population in HAH. It is now to the point where they have become a Health and Safety issue in the Hills as they are at other Lakes Communities. Therefore, the HAH Board of Trustees have adopted a plan to harass these birds in an attempt to reduce there numbers. Starting December 26, 2011 and continuing thru the month of January 2012 there has been a select group designated to start this procedure. For a short period of time each weekday morning the road at the base of the Lake of the Four Seasons dam will be closed. Members living on the west side of the Lake may enter and exit via the green HAH gate across from the baseball diamond. This gate will be manned by either a Security Officer or a dedicated volunteer. The HAH Airstrip and Shooting Range will be monitored also. All harvested geese will be donated to the Bremen Post of the American Legion. These actions fall well within the constraints of Federal guidelines regarding protected species in that goose season is in between December 17, 2011 and January 29, 2012. This is a very important Health and Safety issue and now is the time to control the problem.

Thank you all for your cooperation.
HAH Board of Trustees.
