Quick Pics - American Goldfinch

Once again, today's Quick Pics - Wildlife comes straight from my home office window. The bird feeders are where the camera's eye falls today.

It's often comical to watch the activity a small net bag of thistle can create. Once the thistle is spotted, Goldfinch will field their position until they're either ran off by another finch, or they successfully defend their right to dine. Of course seconds later, the jousting begins once again as another rival attempts to remove them from the coveted thistle spot. Seems like a rough way to enjoy a meal.

Hopefully over the next couple months, I'll be able to share the bright yellow colors of the finch as we move into Spring. Other than their playfulness, Finches aren't a real eye pleaser in the winter months.
